The Distribution Committee of the Cuno Foundation awarded $37,000 in grants to organizations in and around Meriden. Grant recipients include the American Cancer Society, Comunidad Hispana de Wallingford, Franciscan Life Center, Restore With The Arts, Social Sabby Sponsosrships, South Meriden Festivals, Summer Campership for Meriden and Wallingford and the Hometown Foundation.
“We always like to award first-time grants to agencies, especially when they seek funding from multiple sources”, says John Stanton, Chairman of the Distribution Committee of the Cuno Foundation. “The mission of Social Sabby Sponsorships is to foster social skills for special needs children by providing a variety of educational, social and recreational activities for them to participate in with peer mentors. This $3,000 grant covers materials for programs running from May through August”, Stanton said.
